In September 2018, the University of Northampton introduced a new approach to providing academic and pastoral support to students. It is important that we evaluate the effectiveness of this new approach for both staff and students. An annual staff survey on academic and pastoral support was conducted earlier this year. However, to get more in-depth insights from our staff body, we are hosting a number of focus groups to explore how the new Integrated Learner Support model has worked with a view to improving it and addressing issues for next year.

If you would be willing to participate in a Focus Group, please email Rachel Maxwell with your preferred date. There are only 8 spaces per group, which will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

Focus Groups are planned for the following dates:

  1. Wednesday 15th May, 11am-1pm, in LH308 – Faculty-based Academic Staff only
  2. Thursday 16th May, 2:30-4:30pm, in LH213 – Faculty-based Academic Staff only
  3. Thursday 23rd May, 10am-12pm. in LH213 – Professional Services Staff only

Rachel will then send you a calendar invitation for the session you have chosen, aiming to give you your first choice as far as possible.

You will be provided with further information about the study and asked to provide consent to participate and for your views to be recorded.
