ILT are pleased to announce that the conference programme for this year’s Enhancing Student Success conference (ESS) is now available.
Entitled Being Super Supportive: The Team Around the Student, the conference will bring together colleagues from all areas of the University – academic and professional services alike, to explore ways in which we can enhance our provision of appropriate, tailored and personal support to all our students at all times. Our keynote presentation will be delivered by Catrin Nicholas who recently presented at one of the regular LLS Lunchtime in the Library sessions. Her session – entitled Life After Locked Doors – will offer a timely perspective on some of the barriers to inclusive education faced by some of our students and help us all to consider life through a different lens.
Following a series of short presentations exploring different components of the new Learner Support System (approved by Senate for Level 4 roll-out from September 2018), there will be a short workshop exploring ways to ensure that the different components liaise effectively with each other, supported by appropriate use of the Learner Analytics software (to be piloted during the 2018-19 academic year).
The conference will close with an overview of plans to revise and enhance our Welcome Week / Induction provision.
