Talk the talk and walk the walk.
Mon 1 March 2021
12:00 – 12:30
With gyms closed and being stuck at home with seemingly nowhere to go, it’s been a tough year for all of us.
No matter your motive, a walk can help. What seems like the simple act of putting one foot in front of the other brings about a world of opportunities to make life feel normal for a change.
In this talk, Dr Declan Ryan will discuss the reasons why, where, and when to walk to get you up and about – abiding by Government restrictions – so we can all walk the walk together.
There will also be an opportunity to share your own walking stories that have helped you through your own life.
Dr Declan Ryan moved to Northampton two-years ago from the Peak District. Since joining the University, Declan has continued with his research into the impact that physical activity and sitting can have on your physical health whilst also starting new projects with local partners to explore the links between the built environment and physical activity.
Declan’s research focus is to drive societal impact to create measurable benefits to the local community and beyond.
This event is open to all UON staff, students, and members of the public.Register here
