Fri 2 July 2021

An exciting week of virtual events to inspire and enthuse in all careers and subjects around STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and maths).  Enrich your students, excite your colleagues and engage with a huge variety of employers by joining us at STEAM Northants 2021.

Previously known as the Big Bang Northants, STEAM Northants will be virtual in 2021. The University of Northampton will host a series of enjoyable and interesting talks, workshops, live Q&As, panel debates, challenges and activities from a range of business, employers and subject experts in the field of STEAM!  The week will help young people understand more about all STEAM subjects and how they compliment each other for many careers.

STEAM Northants will be offering a range of subject themed workshops for young people from Y6 to Y13, with specific and targeted workshops for all age groups. As well as a huge range of activities on offer from employers and the University of Northampton, STEAM Northants will also offer careers workshops on ‘Apprenticeships’, ‘STEAM Careers’ and ‘Post-16 Options’ for young people leaving school.

STEAM Northants will also be offering workshops for teachers and school staff, themed around STEAM subjects and careers.

The full programme will be available by 31 May 2021 and we are delighted that the following employers are already confirmed:
Atomic Tom, British Computing Society, Creature Ark, Dr Martens, Delapre Abbey, Fabula Arts, Fridge Street, Immersive Experiences, Lemon Pop Workshops, Medical Mavericks, NN Gallery, OR Society,  RARE Xbox Design Studios, Royal Science Society and Silverstone Experience… with more confirming every day.

These events are for Y6 to Y13 young people, Teachers, School Staff and Home Educators based in Northamptonshire, Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire schools.

Registration and booking details coming soon.

(Schools will be able to book individual subjects/activities across the week and access additional resources)
