Library and Learning Services (LLS) presents Nick Dimmock, Research Information Specialist

In the second half of the 20th century a handful of Italian directors re-imagined the horror film through a series of unreconstructed, unpredictable and frequently unfathomable productions employing striking visuals, haunting soundtracks and terrible, terrible dialogue – works that occupy a unique liminal region between artistic vision and mercenary exploitation, and also have loads of killings and blood.

Gird your nerves, set narrative logic aside and join undemanding genre enthusiast Nick Dimmock for a whistle-stop appreciation of the Italian horror film, from its proud gothic foundations to the diminishing returns of the “video nasty” era.
