Join us for the final year productions by our BA (Hons) Acting students

Our final year Acting students will be showcasing their talents in 3 productions being held at the Jacksons Lane Theatre, London from Friday 31 May to Sunday 2 June.

Arcadia by Tom Stoppard. 

The play takes us back and forth between the centuries and explores the nature of truth and time; the difference between the Classical and the Romantic temperament; and the disruptive influence of sex on our orbits in life.

Red Velvet by Lolita Chakrabarti.

Based on the little-known, but true, story of Ira Aldridge, Red Velvet tells of the young black American actor’s professional struggle in the face of widespread prejudice in London society. The play is set at Theatre Royal, Covent Garden in 1833, where Edmund Kean, the greatest actor of his generation, has just collapsed on stage whilst playing Othello. A young black American actor has been asked to take over the role. But as the public riot in the streets over the abolition of slavery, how will the cast, critics and audience react to the revolution taking place in the theatre?

More Light by Bryony Lavery. 

More Light and the other ‘ladies of the Emperor’ have been immured with the recently deceased Chinese ruler. Used to a secure and luxurious existence, they are driven to extreme of human behaviour which test to the limit their mutual loyalty.
