CER Seminar: “Is this for kids?” Adventuring and the reconfiguration of childhood spaces

Updated 29.04.2021

Wed 23 June 2021

16:30 – 17:30

This seminar highlights multi-modal data generated with a group of 4-year-olds during a year of “adventuring” – outings away from their preschool to a large public university campus – to rethink the ways in which children emerge through and with urban spaces. We argue that attending to children’s actual ways of being with/in the world can upend multiple narratives about rights, risk, participation, as well as afford us insight into the entanglement of childhood with architecture, transportation, and other urban systems.

Led by: Casey Y. Myers, PhD and Rochelle L. Hostler, MA  (Watershed Early Years Partnership)
