2019: An Exhibition by this year’s Printmaking Fellows at The University of Northampton
Private View Friday 7 June 6-8pm
Open 8-14 June 10am-4pm daily
‘2019’ is an exhibition of work by nine printmakers who have undertaken a Printmaking Fellowship this year at the University of Northampton.
The 2019 exhibition will take place in the University’s Walgrave Building on St. George’s Avenue, and will open alongside the Degree Show of work by graduating students from the Fine Art courses at the University on Friday 7th June from 6-8pm.
The Printmaking Fellowship scheme was introduced in 2014 to support printmaking within the Fine Art Department, and offers opportunities for recent graduates to observe and contribute to the running of an open access workshop over the course of an academic year, whilst honing their skills and developing their own practice as printmakers. It culminates in an exhibition that allows them to reflect on their progress over the year, and contemplate their next steps as arts professionals. The work on show is diverse and eclectic, ranging from practices that employ traditional processes to those that question the formal boundaries of printmaking.
