Research Profile

  • Rob started teaching in September 2012 after completing his Bachelor’s degree in Computer Games Art at Teesside University and his PGCE at Birmingham City University. 

  • ​Rob is an experienced tutor and course leader within both the further and higher education sector and specialises in 3D asset production for Games and Narrative design. He has worked with an array of students that have gone on to work in the games industry and other creative roles and aspires to develop games related courses further in the future. 

  • Rob is currently completing an MA in Education, which will conclude in September 2021 with his thesis: Does using Agile methodologies with students to collaboratively design their own assignments improve their understanding of assessment standards and the teaching and learning processes used on their courses.  

    He is also a keen contributor to research projects that require 3D virtual assets such as: Virtual reality environments; characters and animations. His further research interests are within the areas of games, virtual reality and experimental teaching and learning methods. He aspires to develop research in the area of teaching games related subjects, methods of inclusivity within teaching and the adaptation of industry practices for the classroom.
