Staff Profile

  • Rob is Programme Leader for Games Design.

    Rob started teaching in September 2012 after completing his PGCE at Birmingham City University. He achieved a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Games Art at Teesside University in 2011 and has since completed an MA in Education at The University of Northampton. In 2022, he begun a PhD in Games-Based-Learning which compliments his work in the development of Serious Games products.

  • ​Rob is an experienced tutor and course leader within both the further and higher education sector and specialises in 3D asset production, Narrative Design and Technical Art for Games. He has worked with an array of students both in the classroom and on live projects that have gone on to work in the games industry and other creative roles. 

  • Rob is currently studying a PhD in Games-Based-Learning, which began in 2022.

    He is a keen contributor to research projects and frequently manages students and graduates on live projects that require virtual solutions such as: Games, Augmented reality and Virtual reality environments which include characters and animations. These have included solutions for: VR Therapies, The NFCC, Early Years Education and The Chester House Estate.

    He aspires to create opportunities for alumni to gain working experience that is vital for their careers in the Games Development industry and has begun to establish his own social enterprise with the help of the University’s Changemaker Incubator.
