Course Details

Module one – Understanding and Enhancing Employability

You will critically evaluate your own employment prospects in the context of the UK graduate labour market. You will develop strategies to improve employability prospects and have the opportunity to practice the skills required by employers. You will explore models of critical reflection and develop skills in resilience, confidence and managing change. You will analyse the UK graduate labour market and recruitment and selection practices. By the end of this module you will have developed an outstanding CV and professional social media profile and have a clear appreciation of what employers expect.

Module Two –  Work Readiness and Professional Development.

This module will help prepare you for the intensive work placement and strengthen your professional skills. You will participate in a mock assessment centre and will receive feedback and coaching. You will have a clear appreciation of how organisations work and of different organisational cultures. By the end of the module you will have strong self awareness of your strengths and development areas and how you will achieve your career goals – you will be ‘work ready’.

  • At the end of the two seven-week modules you will undertake an intensive internship of between 3-6 months that will enable you to gain direct employment experience and enhance your CV and career prospects.
  • You will have the opportunity to engage with a range of employers in workshops, round table sessions and employability events hosted at the University through the Changemaker hub.
  • One-to-one careers advice and guidance will be offered, and you will participate in a mock assessment centre to put into practice the skills that you have developed throughout the course.
