Ivna Reic is the elected Academic Staff Member of the Board of Governors where she brings the academic staff perspective to the Board’s conversations and decision-making processes. She has been with the University of Northampton since late 2013 and currently holds the post of Subject Leader in Events, Tourism and Hospitality within the Faculty of Business & Law. Prior to this, Ivna taught events management at two other HE institutions in London. She has authored a number of scholarly outputs related to events management, including contributing chapters to leading edited textbooks in the field, as well as publishing her own authored book Events Marketing Management: A Consumer Perspective, which has been adopted as a core text on events management programmes across the UK HE sector since its publication in 2017.
Ivna is passionate about the role of education in empowering young people to discover their passions and realise their potential, as well as the impact of an authentic and inclusive curriculum in shaping the student experience and enhancing their career prospects. Ivna’s interest and involvement in education transcends HE, as she also serves as a school governor in a local primary and secondary school.
