Not only has taking on a Professional Practice Placement with MK Gallery given Bethany Murray an insight into the working world of art, it has also led to a six week placement with the after school art club at Old Stratford Primary School. Bethany is also the treasurer for Gallery202 and after completing her degree, she would like to study for a Masters so she can become a tutor, as well as a practising artist.
“My course has opened up a tremendous array of opportunities, ranging from gallery visits to working with visiting artists. My work placements have fed my inspiration and motivation, as well as my personal growth and I am now more confident in my work and ideas.
“It’s not just what you do from 9am to 5pm, but it’s also what you gain from working outside your studio, how you engage with other artists and galleries, taking all the opportunities that are offered to you by your university. I am so happy that I chose this course at the University of Northampton and I am not just an art student, I’m an artist – I have never felt so inspired.”
