Course Content

  • The University of Northampton’s BA (Hons) Criminology with Psychology course will cover many of the criminological theories and research methodologies relating to the study of crime but will also incorporate some psychological dimensions. The course is designed for those who have a criminological curiosity but are keen to maintain and advance some of their psychological understanding.

The curriculum and the modules offered cover all aspects of criminological enquiry. The progression path means that each year of study the students in this programme will be studying 4 criminology and 2 psychology modules, leading up to year three when they complete their Criminology with Psychology dissertation utilising knowledge from the previous two years.

The focus is primarily criminological and all students on the course will be student members of the British Society of Criminology. All students will become familiar with ethical protocols and codes of conduct in applying criminology in social settings.
