Each year the university welcomes more than 1,000 international students from more than 100 countries. Students can expect to find high quality academic teachings, first class resources and a friendly, supportive learning environment. All students benefit from the unique opportunity to develop international relationships and networks through learning alongside others from a wide range of countries and cultures.
As an international student at the University of Northampton you will gain a lot of experience that employers will value highly - the experience of living, studying and working in the UK, the opportunity to improve your English and communication skills and the chance to meet and interact with students from all over the world. After you graduate you will have a British education and social and professional ties in the UK which will benefit your future wherever you choose to live.
For most of our international students, studying and living in the UK is a new experience. There is a dedicated team of staff to help you settle in as well as a great social programme to help you make the most of your time at the university. Students have the opportunity to be met at the airport by a university representative to be brought directly to the university and all students are invited to join our International Orientation Programme the week before your course starts. The programme provides sessions where you can get advice and guidance on daily life, for example opening a bank account or registering with a doctor, as well as a number of social activities to help you meet other students and get to know the area.
