Overview


If you are already working in the leather industry, this 3 month intensive course is ideal for your continuing personal development and career progression. This course aims at further advancing your skill set together with nurturing a critical mindset, essential for today’s fast-moving industry. You will be taught by experts in the field providing a comprehensive insight into both leather science and technology, covering raw to finished leather, by combining theoretical and practical aspects of the leather making industry.

Course Content


  • The course consists of several subjects (modules), each delivered Monday to Thursday varying from one to four weeks in length with Leather Science running every Friday throughout the twelve-week period. We encourage you to develop a critical and analytic approach to leather making and related issues.

    Assessments

    An optional final portfolio reflecting your learning journey during your time at the Institute for Creative Leather Technologies (ICLT) can be produced by each delegate.

    Schedule

    The course is divided into several individual units that are studied intensively for between two to four week periods during the course as well as one optional unit that is studied throughout the course.

    Please note the modules shown here relate to the academic year 23/24. The modules relating to the academic year 24/25 will be available from June 2024.

    Places on this course are given by discretion of ICLT staff. We do advise that you have some prior knowledge of the leather industry.

    English Language Requirements
    All International and EU students applying for a course with us must meet the following minimum English language requirements:

    • Recommended standard – IELTS 6.0 (or equivalent)
      This course may require a skype interview.
