You can borrow up to:
- 25 one week or term length loan items
- 5 short loan items
- 15 equipment items
- 5 DVDs or videos
You will need to show your staff ID card to borrow items.
An interlibrary loan service is also available. You can complete an online interlibrary loan request form to request items from other libraries, including:
- journal articles
- conference papers and proceedings
You are also able to use SCONUL Access to access and borrow material from other university libraries.
Reserving and renewing items
Items can be reserved online.
You can renew items by:
- using the library catalogue online service
- taking the item, your staff card or both to the self-service machines at either campus
The Academic Liaison Team is formed of subject specific academic librarians who can assist you in sourcing specific information, as well as advising on available resources for your subject area.
The Extra Library Support and Assistance (ELSA) Team offers help to individuals who need extra support to access library facilities for various reasons.
ELSA offer a range of support and help, including advice on how to:
- tackle reading lists
- search for items of interest
- manage your library account, including renewing, reserving and booking items
ELSA can contact publishers to obtain books or other materials in alternative formats. ELSA staff are also available to help if you need assistance with finding or carrying materials.
The Centre for Achievement and Performance (CfAP) provides guidance and tuition on a variety of academic skills, and offers online support through the Skills Hub.
Lost library items
If you lose an item, or you have already returned an item that is still showing on your account, email the library with:
- your name
- your staff number
- the name of the item
A fine will be applied to overdue items.
