The University of Northampton is committed to making the research outputs of its members freely accessible to the wider community. The University maintains an open access digital repository, a collection of online journals and has a research data policy which promotes open access to research data.

Digital repository: NECTAR

The Northampton Electronic Collection of Theses and Research (NECTAR) is The University of Northampton’s open access institutional repository. Its purpose is to showcase university research. NECTAR contains articles, conference papers, research theses and other research outputs. Visit the NECTAR website.

Northampton Open Journals

Northampton Open Journals is the University’s collection of academic journals. Editorial control of these journals rests with University members, but each journal has an editorial board drawn from the wider academic community. Visit the Northampton Open Journals website or go directly to Enhancing the Learner Experience in Higher Education.

Research data

The University’s Research Data Policy states that, in accordance with the recommendations of Research Councils UK (RCUK Policy and Code of Conduct on the Governance of Good Research Conduct), primary data and research evidence will where possible be made available to others after the completion of the research.
