Programme Improvement Through Alumni Research (PITAR)
The PITAR project is being undertaken by the Surveys Team in the Information and Planning Unit at the University of Northampton. The PITAR project to date has been two phased, constituting two surveys: 'Our students in the workforce 18 months and 3 years later: How did we do? And can we do better?', an initial survey carried out in 2002/03 and a follow on survey in 2004 'Our students in the workplace and curriculum enhancement: Unlocking the potential'.
The findings of the survey will be used to provide information to enable the University to increase its knowledge on the gap between the skills which our students gain at the University, and those skills actually required in their subsequent employment. Results are due to be published later this year on the PITAR website.
More information on the third stage of PITAR.
If you still have more questions then please see the Frequently Asked Questions or contact the Surveys Team.
The third phase is now underway. Three groups of university stakeholders were surveyed; alumni, their employers and academic staff. The project aims to provide feedback on the skills and core competencies that students learn while studying at the University of Northampton.
