Richard Hollingum is Senior Lecturer in Radio and teaches across journalism and media production courses.
As well as a lecturer Richard is a freelance journalist and writer. Until recently he wrote regularly about music and the arts for The Oxford Times. He has also produced radio packages for the BBC.
Richard's MA in Radio Studies looked both at the production of radio and at radio as a subject of Higher Education curriculum. He has just embarked on a PhD, researching the pre-history of the BBC's Radiophonic Workshop.
Sound and its use in radio and film is a central theme to Richard's research interests:
