Ms Melanie Crofts

I have been a lecturer at the University since 2001.  I am currently the module leader for Discrimination Law and Immigration, Nationality and Asylum Law.  My main areas of interest are in immigration and issues relating to discrimination, equality and diversity in particular.  I sit on the School of Social Sciences Equality and Diversity Committee and am a member of the Equality and Diversity Research Group. 

I have am halfway through a PhD relating to Discrimination Law in Higher Education and am involved in research looking at BME staff in Higher Education.  I am also on the Union Executive Committee at the University as the Equality and Diversity Representative and sit on a number of University committees in this capacity. 

I have recently taken up the position of Board member of the Northamptonshire Rights and Equality Centre.

My personal interests include listening to music - particularly live music, travelling and walking.  I am also interested in politics and current affairs generally.
