Vice Chancellor to speak at Universities UK conference regarding change, challenges and the future of strategic sourcing

​Professor Nick Petford, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Northampton, will be discussing the challenges and opportunities universities are facing at the Universities UK conference in London on Tuesday 4 February.

The conference will explore how universities can better understand their service providers, prioritising change. Seminars will consider ways to embed sustainability, social value and the student experience into change processes whilst delivering better value for money. The event will allow delegates to consider new and innovative ways of delivering services and managing operations to increase productivity, reduce costs, and improve quality. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn from their peers through case studies, and consider the merits of taking services back in house, outsourcing and using shared service facilities.

Other confirmed speakers at the event include; Malcolm Williamson, Head of Enterprise Support Services at Inspire2Enterprise – a social enterprise support service formed as a joint venture between the University of Northampton and Exemplas, Dr Clive Grace, Chair of UK Shared Business Services and Dr Mark Pegg, Chief Executive of the Leadership Foundation for Higher Education.
