The University of Northampton, UnLtd’s Higher Education Institution (HEI) of the Year 2016, will be hosting a social enterprise conference in partnership with UnLtd. The conference, ‘keeping social entrepreneurship centre stage within universities’, will call on other HEIs to ensure they use their role with the community to cultivate social enterprise and positive social impact.

Headlining the conference will be the University of Northampton’s Vice Chancellor Professor Nick Petford and UnLtd’s CEO, Mark Norbury.

Experts from the University of Northampton will be delivering best practice sessions on topics including; social enterprise scale, growth, impact and value; social innovation and research; social enterprise within the curriculum, and social impact within procurement.

A range of delegates are expected to attend from the Higher Education (HE) sector, policy makers, social enterprise investment bodies, social enterprise support organisations, and social enterprises.

Dr Hiten Vyas, Business Adviser at the University’s Enterprise Club, commented: “The conference will see the University asking some key questions to the HE sector about how collectively we can build upon the excellent work already done, and continue to enhance social entrepreneurship, innovation and leadership in the future”.

The conference, which is free to attend, will take place on Friday, 30 September 2016 from 10:45 to 16:30 at the Icon Innovation Centre, Northamptonshire.
