University of Northampton shortlisted for University of the Year

The University of Northampton is delighted to announce it has been shortlisted for the prestigious Times Higher Education award for the University of the Year 2013.

The award recognises institutions that have demonstrated exceptional performance in the past academic year. The shortlisting comes at a time when the University of Northampton is cementing its place as a leading university; with success across the board in several Higher Education league tables. In addition, the National Student Survey and the Destination of Leavers from Higher Education surveys have recognised the commitment of academic and professional services staff to enhancing the academic and student experience at the University.

Vice-Chancellor, Professor Nick Petford, said: “When I joined the University of Northampton in 2010, I was clear in my intention to develop the University into a leading institution committed to delivering life changing opportunities in education.  The academic and professional services staff at the University have been working exceptionally hard to deliver excellent courses and provide an outstanding student experience alongside social impact for individuals and communities. The shortlisting for this prestigious award is testament to our collaborative effort during the last academic year.”

The winners will be announced on 28 November 2013 at an awards ceremony in London.
