University of Northampton shortlisted for the Times Higher Education Leadership and Management Award 2014

The University of Northampton has been shortlisted for the Times Higher Education Leadership and Management Award 2014 (THEMLA) in the Outstanding Human Resources Team category.

Under the guidance of Deborah Mattock, Director of Human Resources, the team have revised their ways of working and have reinvigorated staff development by offering a unique approach to leadership, management development, appraisal and induction. The Staff Development team has developed three new programmes; Core Management Skills tailored for managers of people, Leadership Development aimed at future strategic leaders and UN Essentials, which supports the development of all staff members.

Speaking on the shortlisting announcement, Deborah Mattock said: “I am delighted that the work of our HR team has been recognised in this way. Our aim is to enable all our staff to achieve their goals and build on the skills they need to succeed. In order to continue to grow and improve as an institution, the development of all our employees is critical to maintaining our place as a Top 50 University.”

​The winner will be announced at an awards ceremony in London on 17 June.
