University of Northampton features on the Steelbacks shirts for the next season

Date 16.11.2015

The University of Northampton will take pride of place on the front of the Northants Cricket LV County Championship shirts for the 2015 season.

The move reflects the University’s position as the Principal Partner of Northants Cricket.

Gary Atyes, Northants Cricket’s Head of Commercial Sales and Sponsorship, stated, “We are delighted that the University of Northampton will feature on the front of what is our traditional cricket shirt. This move reflects their considerable investment and status as Principal Partners. We also intend to increase their involvement across other areas of the club including greater involvement in our community activity. Our partnership of our first ever Schools Day last season was a great success and we are looking to build on these type of events.”
Deborah Mattock, Director of HR and Marketing at the University of Northampton, said: “We are very excited to be continuing our partnership with Northants Cricket and are looking forward to seeing the players in their new shirts. This partnership will further develop our ability to offer our students unique opportunities for local work placements, volunteering opportunities and internships, not only in the field of sports management, but with the other areas involved in running a successful cricket club.”

Although there will be no significant changes to the look and design of the County Championship shirt next season, it will include new technical qualities and reflect the changing trends in performance sports apparel. The Steelbacks will however soon be announcing changes to the design of both their T20 and 50 Over shirts.
