Northampton named the speediest university on the Clearing phone lines!

Date 23.08.2016

The University of Northampton has been named the speediest university to answer the phone to potential students on A-level results day, by Whatuni with an average of a single second.

Since the phone lines opened for Clearing at 8am on Thursday 18 August, around 3,634 calls were received over four days, with approximately 700 offers being made. The University is aiming to fill 350 to 400 places for the coming academic year and is well on the way to achieving that target.

Some of the most popular courses included Psychology, Paramedic Science, Acting, Law, Computing, Accounting and Finance and Sport and Exercise Science.

The University welcomed over 1,700 guests to its Open Day on 20 August. This provided an opportunity for students to visit both campuses, meet academics and obtain advice and guidance on a range of issues from module choice, funding and accommodation.

Antony Bounds, Head of Admissions at the University of Northampton, commented: “It’s been another successful Clearing period for the University of Northampton. By Saturday, we had largely filled our places on the majority of our programmes, but we do remain open for any interested applicants who might want to study in September 2016 but places are limited.”
