Infectious behaviour! 1st Degree’s Dani Halton gradutes with University Certificate in Infection Control

Date 13.11.2015

Housekeeping Supervisor Dani Halton, who works within the University of Northampton’s 1st Degree Facilities team, graduated last week with the University Certificate in Infection Control.

Dani was awarded the John Butler Worshipful Company of Environmental Cleaners Scholarship which enabled her to study the one year course on a part-time basis. Dani is the third member of staff from the First Degree team to complete the course.

On receiving her qualification, Dani commented: “Completing the course has given me a greater knowledge and understanding as to why tasks are completed the way they are on a daily basis. I have used my knowledge and skills to train new members of the team, by mentoring team members through their own qualifications to help them progress within their own job roles. The course has enabled me to both train and mentor staff more effectively.”

Dani has developed a thirst for study; since the completion of the certificate she has completed the ILM Leadership and Management qualification and intends to continue studying at the University of Northampton to further her career aspirations.
