Got your BTEC results? Or want to be a mature student? Clearing is open for you now

Date 25.07.2016

Students who have already received their vocational results and are looking for a university place can beat the rush and apply now.

The University of Northampton’s Clearing process is now open, allowing those who have received their BTEC results, plus potential mature students, to secure their place on a full-time undergraduate course in September.

“Clearing is traditionally associated with mid-August’s A-level results day, when thousands who are without an offer of a degree course have the chance to find a university place for the new academic year,” said the University’s Head of Admissions, Antony Bounds.

“But, by launching Clearing earlier, the University is helping those who already have their results – and potential mature students – to beat the rush and secure their place.”

Megan Hogg, pictured, successfully applied for a place on the University’s Psychology degree course through Clearing in 2015.

She said: “The Clearing process itself was pretty easy – I was able to find out about different universities and courses online.

“When I found the Psychology course at the University of Northampton, all I had to do was call one telephone number, they asked for my grades and said I could enrol – it was that simple.”

Megan added: “I’m really pleased I came here. I’m closer to home and the course is really good with some very interesting modules and all of the lecturers are really supportive.”

Would-be students are also invited to attend the University’s Open Day, which takes place on Saturday 20 August, between 9am and 3.30pm.
