Yatri Pabari, who graduated from the University in 2009, is based in Leicester and works as a luxury womenswear fashion designer. She commented:
“The Midlands Fashion Designer Awards are a great platform for all designers – not only is it a great opportunity to be part of, but they recognise talent within the Midlands. It gives designers the chance to showcase their work in what I would like to call a ‘niche show’, as it’s a very concentrated platform to celebrate designers within the Midlands.”
The official judges of the competition included Vivienne Whelan, bespoke womenswear fashion designer and Project Catwalk finalist, Hind Hadj, Head of Marketing at Claire’s Europe, Hollie Bracciale, Fashion Editor, Sixty Nine Magazine, and Alan Sharman, Managing Director at Alan Sharman Model Agency.
The Awards, held at the Fazeley Studios, Birmingham, were sponsored by Claire’s, Toni&Guy, Clothes Show Live, Tights Please, Lypsy London, Lovelula.com, Alan Sharman Model Agency and the Pitcher and Piano.
