Dr Terry Tudor speaks at Technical University of Berlin

Date 16.11.2015

Using funding from a Santander Research Award, Dr Terry Tudor, a Senior Lecturer in Wastes Management in the School of Science and Technology, recently visited the Technical University of Berlin (TU Berlin), in Germany.

One of the key aims of the visit was to deliver a seminar on sustainability, and share the work of the University of Northampton in the field.

The seminar was attended by academics and researchers from various departments at TU Berlin, as well as environmental management consultants external to the University.

In addition, discussions were held with relevant departments at the University (e.g. The Centre for Technology and Society, The Department of Machine Tools and Factory Management, and The Institute of Environmental Technology), to explore potential collaborative opportunities in research and teaching and learning.

Dr Tudor noted that “given the complementary nature of the work of the two institutions, the visit was a great opportunity to see how we could work together. Indeed, various specific ideas were identified, including in the areas of sustainable manufacture, waste management, as well as the development of joint training provision for organisations.”
