Students’ Union awarded Best Club 2010 accolade
Published Monday 29th November 2010
The University of Northampton’s Students’ Union has taken the top prize of ‘Best Club’ in Northampton’s Best Bar None Awards.
Northampton's Best Bar None scheme was launched by Northampton Pubwatch with support from the Community Safety Partnership and the winners were announced at a recent black tie ceremony.
Mark Norman (Commercial Development Manager), Aman Ubhi (Bars Manager) and Emily Dean (Students' Union President ) were on hand to pick up the award.
The pubs and clubs were judged on whether they had adequate measures and policies in place.
The awards are the result of much hard work by the Students' Union to demonstrate its social responsibilities to the students of The University of Northampton and its part within the local community.
Winning the Best Club Award in Best Bar None is a testament to how hard the staff here work in providing a safe environment for our customers. The Students' Union is known for being a safe place for students to go and now we have an award to prove it!
Mark Norman, Commercial Development Manager, Students' Union
This award represents many hours we have committed to our policies and procedures within our venues. The safety of our customers and our commitment to ensuring engagement with the local community is extremely important to us.
