The University of Northampton's Students' Union has proven itself top of the bars – winning a national Gold award, as well as 'Best Club' in the Best Bar None Awards.
The University of Northampton competed against all other universities in the UK in the national NUS Best Bar None scheme, winning Gold, scoring 96% and coming joint 13th in the country.
Northampton's Best Bar None scheme was launched by Northampton Pubwatch, with support from the Community Safety Partnership - and judges, pubs and clubs on whether they have adequate measures and policies in place.
Winning the Best Club Award in Best Bar None is a testament to how hard the staff here work in providing a safe environment for our customers. The Students' Union is known for being a safe place for students to go and now we have two awards to prove it!
To also win Gold in the national scheme is a real honour. We scored a fantastic 96%, which put us joint 13th in the country. The awards represent many hours of hard work. We have committed to our policies and procedures within our venues and the safety of our customers and our commitment to ensuring engagement with the local community is extremely important to us.
