Students exhibit artwork at Spring Show
Published Tuesday 29th March 2011
Contemporary photographs, drawings, fine art and paintings are now on display at The University of Northampton – with a month-long exhibition organised by Year 2 BA Art pathway students.
Christine Midgley, Acting Associate Dean at the University's School of The Arts, said:
The Spring Show always attracts a wide interest in an audience from way beyond the School of The Arts. For the students themselves it offers a chance to see themselves as part of the creative community around them - a glimpse of where their ambitions might take them.

This year's exhibition includes work by:
-
Lisa Allen, who uses overlooked everyday objects and forms a sculptural response
-
Sophie Gresswell, who uses heightened colour and shaped canvases to create paintings that are 'a bit of a mystery'
-
Julian Segura-Pacheco, whose large-scale canvases depict what is going on in his mind at a given moment

This striking and diverse exhibition will cover a broad range of artistic genres and a variety of styles and media. Individual pieces have been designed to reflect each student's personal artistic approach and creativity.
