Education PhD community
Welcome to the Centre for Education and Research in the School of Education at The University of Northampton. Here we have a thriving and lively PhD community comprising students and supervisors with a wide range of research interests.
The Centre provides support for both full-time and part-time students and welcomes applications for doctoral level study from colleagues interested in pursuing research on a wide range of educational topics. Within the Centre for Education and Research, students are provided with dedicated work space and storage facilities and are equipped with ICT equipment and other resources required for the completion of projects.
The Centre for Education and Research provides a programme of training and support for students that includes regular supervisor and student support evenings, workshops, seminars and an annual two day research student conference organised by the students. In addition, students are encouraged and supported to attend conferences both in the UK and internationally.
In addition to students from the UK, we welcome international colleagues and currently have students from a number of countries including India, Taiwan, Brazil, Zimbabwe Ireland and China. All students are supported by a supervisory team, and many of our supervisors have experience of working internationally.
The Centre for Education and Research has an excellent track record of supporting students through to a successful conclusion of their PhD studies, and a reputation for creating a supportive environment for researchers.
Should you be interested in finding out more about opportunities to study for a PhD in education, please do not hesitate to contact either myself, or our senior Research Degree administrator, David Watson.
