The Media Research Group

The Media Research Group at The University of Northampton is a vibrant research environment which investigates diverse interests and collaborates with other universities and organisations on research and practice-led projects.

The Media Research Group features:

  • Science fiction
  • Gender studies
  • American literature and popular culture
  • Cultural theory
  • Political media
  • Popular music
  • Photography (media practice)

The group holds fortnightly research seminars which showcase staff and graduate research. It has international links with media departments at other universities and also works with institutions serving local communities. Most recently, The Media Research Group hosted the "Magus: Alan Moore" conference (co-convened by Nathan Wiseman-Trowse and Mike Starr).
