Counselling and Mental Health Team

The University of Northampton offers a Counselling Service and a Mental Health Advisor Service.

Students can access either service depending on the nature of their difficulties and both offer a free, confidential and non-judgemental service.

Counsellors offer an opportunity for students to talk about their problems, deepen their understanding of what is happening and develop alternative ways of dealing with situations. Mental Health Advisors provide support for students experiencing mental health difficulties and can advise and recommend adjustments to enable study.

The Counselling and Mental Health Team is also a source of information, advice and guidance for staff supporting students in distress.

Should you wish to make an informal complaint please see the Student Services complaints procedure and form.
