Careers and Employability Service
The University's Careers and Employability Service is dedicated to providing practical support to students and graduates, to help them reach well informed decisions about their future careers, further education or training. Students and graduates are offered one-to-one guidance on a drop-in basis or by booked appointment.
The Careers and Employability Service consists of fully qualified and experienced careers advisors from a cross section of professional backgrounds. The team actively work with academics and University staff to maximise the potential and employability prospects of our students. The team engage with employers locally, nationally, regionally and globally to create the best opportunities for graduate employment. The Careers and Employability Service organise a number of events throughout the year, one of the main events being the annual Careers Fair. A range of local and national employers are invited to discuss graduate job opportunities with students and graduates.

Students and graduates can seek advice via drop-in sessions or booked appointments.
The Careers and Employability offices are based at Park Campus and Avenue Campus. The office at Park Campus is located in D2 Charles Bradlaugh Halls of Residence. The office at Avenue Campus is located in Student Services in the Maidwell building.

The Careers and Employability Service can also guide students and graduates in other ways such as:
- Registering for the online vacancy database, where they can search for graduate jobs, graduate internships and undergraduate placements
- Helping with their CVs, covering letters, application forms and delivering mock interviews and understanding the recruitment process
- Emailing their queries to an advisor from the Careers and Employability team
- Receiving advice on using other careers websites such as 'Prospects', the UK's official graduate careers website, and 'TargetJobs', an online source for graduate jobs, internships and advice
- Students can look for part-time jobs whilst they are studying, using the University's JobShop service, an online vacancy database. We can provide help and assistance with the application process
