Ceremonies, Certification and Conferment
The Ceremonies Office is responsible for all aspects of the award ceremonies, the production of certificates and the administration of the conferment process at The University of Northampton.
Ceremonies
The University of Northampton's award ceremonies take place twice a year in July and February to recognise the achievements of completing students.
Both the University's summer and winter award ceremonies currently take place at the Royal and Derngate in Northampton town centre.
More information on award ceremonies for students is available on the website.
Certification
The Ceremonies Office is responsible for the production of students' award certificates. They also handle replacement certificate requests from former students of the University and the institutions that preceded it.
Details on requesting a replacement certificate are available on the website.
Conferment
The conferment process is when students' awards are approved by the University Award and Ratification board, acting on the authority of Senate, the highest academic committee at The University of Northampton, through the presentation of student profiles. This process is centrally administered by the Ceremonies Office. The University Award and Ratification board meets regularly throughout the academic year for the approval of student awards.
The Ceremonies Office works with the Vice Chancellor's Office in relation to the termination of a student's period of study with the University. The processes for confirming a student's award or their termination are in line with the University's Articles of Government.
