NILE - acceptable use
By registering onto the Northampton Integrated Learning Environment (NILE) each user agrees to abide by the conditions set out below. The University of Northampton, through the Director of Information Services, reserves the right to exclude anyone who fails to comply with these conditions from NILE.

NILE is provided for education, research and administration use, any commercial use of NILE is forbidden. Those using NILE are personally responsible for their contributions to the system and shall be held accountable for any problems that arise from any such contribution.

Contributions to NILE should be regarded as the intellectual property of the authors or The University of Northampton. If they are to be quoted by another person in a publication (electronic or printed), proper acknowledgement must be given. Please see the copyright pages for more information

Where the contribution of any NILE user to a topic incorporates material of which the user is not the author, proper acknowledgement to the author of the material shall be given in the contribution.

Contributions must not consist of, or contain, illegal or offensive material; any material which is considered by the Director of Information Services to be so, may be removed from the system. This includes material that is defamatory, offensive, obscene, would infringe copyright regulations or which contravenes the Data Protection Legislation.

Each NILE user undertakes that he or she will not hold The University of Northampton liable for any material contributed to a conference by another person which is defamatory of that NILE user.

Any user found impersonating another user of the system may be excluded by the Director of Information Services from further use of NILE.

All usage of NILE may be tracked by a systems administrator. Tutors may view the progress of students on their module.

All users must comply with the Information Services Rules and Regulations.
