Train
Northampton railway station is one hour by train from London Euston or from Birmingham New Street. Bus service 19 to the University operates from outside Northampton railway station (on Black Lion Hill) up to five times per hour.
Bus or coach
National and regional coach services operate to Northampton Greyfriars bus station, located in Northampton town centre.
Bus service 19 operates to Avenue Campus from outside Northampton railway station (Black Lion Hill) and from Northampton Greyfriars bus station (bay C) up to five times per hour during the daytime, then twice per hour in the evening. Staff and students can use service 19 free of charge between campuses by showing their ID card (Monday to Friday).

Cycling to Avenue Campus
Avenue Campus is easily accessible by bicycle. It is approximately 5 minutes from Northampton railway station or Greyfriars bus station on dedicated cycle paths. Cycle storage and showers are available on campus.

Driving directions to Avenue Campus
From the North
- Leave the M1 at junction 16 and follow the signs for the A4500 towards Northampton.
- Stay on the A4500 (Weedon Road) towards Northampton for approximately four miles; you will go straight across four roundabouts and numerous traffic lights.
- You will pass Northampton Saints Rugby Club ground on your right; very soon afterwards, at the traffic lights, turn left onto the A428 (Spencer Bridge Road).
- Continue straight ahead at the traffic lights and follow the A428 for three-quarters of a mile; continue up the hill.
- Turn left at the main traffic light junction onto the A508 (Barrack Road).
- After one-third of a mile, move into the outer lane and turn right at the traffic lights onto St George's Avenue.
- Continue along St George's Avenue for one-third of a mile. Avenue campus is on the left.
From the South
- Leave the M1 at junction 15 and follow the signs for the A45 towards Northampton.
- After approximately two miles, take the Queen Eleanor Interchange exit. At the roundabout take the second exit onto the A508 (London Road).
- Continue to follow the A508 for just over one mile, and then bear left onto the A5123 (St Peter's Way).
- At the roundabout, take the third exit onto the A508 (Horseshoe Street).
- Continue to follow the A508 straight ahead for one mile; it will change name to Horse Market, then Broad Street and then Barrack Road.
- Move into the outer lane and turn right at the traffic lights onto St George's Avenue.
- Continue along St George's Avenue for one-third of a mile. Avenue campus is on the left.
From the East
- Leave the A14 at Junction 13 and follow the signs for the A45 towards Northampton.
- After approximately eighteen miles, take the exit for the A43 signed to Weston Favell. At the roundabout, take the third exit onto the A43 (Lumbertubs Way).
- After half-a-mile on the A43, leave at the exit and turn left onto the A4500 (Wellingborough Road) towards Northampton town centre.
- Continue to follow the A4500 straight ahead for one-and-a-third miles.
- At the roundabout, take the second exit onto the A5095 (Abington Avenue).
- Turn right at the mini roundabout onto the A5095 (Abington Grove).
- Go across the junction at the next traffic lights onto Kingsley Road.
- Bear left at the traffic lights onto St George's Avenue.
- Continue along St George's Avenue for one-third of a mile. Avenue campus is on the right.
