Counselling service
What is counselling?
Counselling offers an opportunity to talk in confidence about problems that concern you. Counsellors do not give advice or offer solutions, but do support and encourage you in making your own choices.
By talking through your problems or concerns with a counsellor, you may deepen your understanding of what is happening and develop alternative ways of dealing with the situation.
Appointments
Appointments, which last 50 minutes, are available at Avenue and Park Campuses Monday-Thursday 9am-5pm and Fridays 9am-3pm.
Booking an appointment

We offer one-off sessions five days a week. A one-off session lasts half-an-hour and is therefore different from a first counselling appointment which lasts 50 minutes. One-off sessions give you a chance to talk to a counsellor if something is urgent, you only need one session or are not sure if counselling is for you. It also gives you an opportunity to decide whether further counselling is the best way forward.
We ask you to book an appointment at the Student Services' help desks before coming to check availability and save unnecessary waiting.
