Money matters
The Financial Guidance team can help to guide students with financial issues as well as administering a range of funds. We can also offer short drop-in sessions as well as a confidential drop-in and appointment service during term-time at the Student Centre, Park Campus and Student Services, Avenue Campus. You may prefer to contact Financial Guidance either by telephone or email.
Alternatively, you may wish to take advantage of the Citizens Advice Bureau Service at Park Campus (appointments and drop-ins are available every Tuesday during term-time).
If you have any queries regarding your residency status for student funding purposes, please speak to Student Finance England. Information may also be obtained from The University of Northampton's International Office and UKCISA (UK Council for International Student Affairs).
Please see Access to Learning Fund for an application form and further details about applying to the Fund.
Money week
The Financial Guidance team's Money Week event was held 12-16 March 2012 and, although slightly quieter than our previous event held in November 2011, we saw over 180 students in 4 days!
National Student Money Week is a national initiative to promote the advice, guidance and support offered to applicants, students and graduates by universities, colleges and Students' Unions across the UK about student finance issues. Find out more about National Student Money Week (NASMA).
The aim of the week was to raise awareness about student finance and the support to which students may be entitled, to ensure that students have accessed all the financial support available to them as well as to remind continuing students to re-apply for their Student Finance England-assessed funding for 2012/13.
If you were unable to visit us during Money Week, you can email us with any student finance questions that you may have at studentservices@northampton.ac.uk. The most recent Money Week handouts will be available to download from our web pages soon; previous Money Week handouts are currently downloadable.
