Students' Union
The Students' Union at The University of Northampton provides representation, services, opportunities and guidance to all students at the University.
The Students' Union provides:
- Representation of students' views to the University
- Student bars and entertainment at both campuses, including the Attic nightclub at Park Campus
- Restaurant facilities and shops at both campuses
- Sports clubs and societies
- Advice and guidance on all matters of student life, course representation and job prospects
The Students' Union was awarded a national Gold award, as well as 'Best Club' in the national NUS Best Bar None awards 2011 and then again in 2012. This award confirms the Union as being a safe venue with effective policies on drink and drugs, crime prevention, fire, security and first aid.
Students' Union officers
The Students' Union is run by three full-time elected sabbatical officers.
In 2012/13 the elected Sabbatical Officers are:
- President, Tim Joaquim
- Vice President for Student Experience, Adam Portsmouth
- Vice President for Engagement and Participation, Ben Wesson
There are also a number of part-time elected officers who are current students of the University. These include representatives for international, postgraduate and mature students, sports and societies, equality and diversity, ethics and environment and fundraising (RAG).
The Students' Union is always looking for students to get involved in activities, make suggestions and set up new clubs and societies.
