University choir

About the choir

Founded in June 2010, the choir is open to students, staff, alumni and friends of The University of Northampton. The choir is welcoming and inclusive of all ability ranges: there are no auditions and members do not have to be able to read music.

You can find us on Facebook and Twitter, or email us at choir@northampton.ac.uk.

The choir aims to practice and perform a wide range of music, reflecting the  interests of its members, from classical choral works through to popular music and show songs.

Choir practice is held in Maidwell Main Hall, Avenue Campus at The University of Northampton from 5.30-7pm on Wednesday evenings during term time.

New members are welcome to come along to the choir to try it out for a couple of weeks, prior to committing to a subscription. In order to sustain the choir, we do charge termly subscriptions:

  • Students - £5 per year for music hire
  • Retired/unemployed/part-time - £10 per term + £5 per year for music hire
  • Waged - £20 per term + £5 per year for music hire

The choir's musical director is Dr Nicholas Scott-Burt.
