Sustainability

Sustainability strategy

'Within the next 10 years, the Higher Education (HE) sector in this country will be recognised as a major contributor to society's efforts to achieve sustainability - through the skills and knowledge that its graduates learn and put into practice, and through its own strategies and operations.' (HEFCE Sustainable development)

Goal area E3 of the Strategic Plan informs Learning and Teaching at The University of Northampton: 'Ensure students can access skills and knowledge to enable them to make an informed contribution to sustainable development.'

Current practice and future developments in sustainable development in HE

The HE Academy report,  'A Progress Report for Senior Managers in higher education', January 2006, The Higher Education Academy provides a good overview of the current landscape.
