Sustainability strategy
'Within the next 10 years, the Higher Education (HE) sector in this country will be recognised as a major contributor to society's efforts to achieve sustainability - through the skills and knowledge that its graduates learn and put into practice, and through its own strategies and operations.' (HEFCE Sustainable development)
Goal area E3 of the Strategic Plan informs Learning and Teaching at The University of Northampton: 'Ensure students can access skills and knowledge to enable them to make an informed contribution to sustainable development.'

Sustainability at The University of Northampton
Taught courses
The University is already offering many courses related to Sustainability and Environmental issues.
Most of these are offered by the Geographical and Environmental Sciences division of the School of Science and Technology, which teaches on Ecology and Wastes Management, for example. Look out for 'Envision,' newsletter from the Division of Environmental Science to keep up to date with environmental issues.
The School of Social Sciences offers teaching on Environmental Law and Human Geography.
