Pedagogic Research and Scholarship in Higher Education Network

The Pedagogic Research and Scholarship in Higher Education Network (PRASHEN) is a growing network to bring together staff involved in research in learning and teaching in Higher Education across the University.

The aim of the network is to:

  • facilitate collaboration
  • support bids for funding
  • build capacity across the university in learning, teaching, assessment and student experience research in Higher Education
  • establish a database of activity in pedagogical research
  • support and encourage staff new to pedagogic research to disseminate their work through national networks, conferences and publications
  • extend the research portfolio in learning and teaching
  • identify strategically important learning and teaching themes which will support the growth of our national profile
  • support the development of subject-specific learning and teaching research
  • grow the learning and teaching research and scholarship community
  • enable the network to advance and share pedagogical inquiry
  • provide a focus for this learning community.

Developments with this group include breakfast and twilight meetings, continuing professional development opportunities such as discussions on successful bidding strategies, areas for cross-School or cross-Department collaboration, and the establishment of an online community of practice using our Virtual Learning Environment.
