Employee benefits
The University offers its staff benefits as part of the total reward package such as Healthsure, childcare vouchers and Permanent Healthcare (for senior managers only).
Healthsure
Health plans and private health insurance for you which makes healthcare affordable. The plan is developed to make healthcare accessible, affordable, and as stress-free as possible. The scheme covers, dental, private health, chiropractic and osteopathy treatments.
Childcare vouchers
Childcare vouchers are offered by a company called Computershare (previously Busy Bees) and are a salary sacrifice scheme. Childcare vouchers benefit both basic and higher rate tax-payers with savings of up to £1196 per parent, per year via reduced tax and national insurance contributions. Savings can be made by both parents with a potential saving of up to £2392 per family, per year. Childcare vouchers are the recognised payment method for registered childcare providers and can be used for children up to 16 years old.
The types of registered childcare providers include nurseries, nannies, au pairs, creche vouchers, holiday schemes, childminders, out of school clubs and qualifying childcare provided by maintained and independent schools.
Permanent Healthcare scheme
This scheme is provided for senior managers (and their families) only and provides treatment by specialists of acute medical conditions on a short term basis following a referral from the insured person's General Practitioner.
Fee remission for staff attending UN taught programmes
Human Resources no longer offer fee remission for staff attending University programmes of study.
If you wish to undertake a programme of study, fees are now supported through your School or Department.
Staff discount
The University of Northampton is pleased to offer its staff a variety, both local and national, of company discounts on products and services. Please ensure that you have the correct ID when asking for a discount.
