Accelerated Increments and Contribution Related Pay

The Pay Framework Agreement includes the principle that institutions will adopt pay and grading structures which provide for salary and career progression to attract, retain and motivate staff, rewarding appropriately their knowledge, experience and contribution.

The University supports those mechanisms of progression within and between grades where they are appropriate to the objectives and needs of the institution, whilst ensuring that there is compliance with the requirements of equal pay legislation. The criteria for all career grading progression will be based on business need and role requirements.

The purpose of accelerated increments is to reward individuals who have not yet reached the top of their grade and whose contribution, in the past qualifying year (at least six months) on a sustained basis has added outstanding and significant value in terms of levels of outcomes and competence.

Guidance relating to incremental progression and contribution related pay is also available.

If you wish to submit an application complete the application for award of accelerated incremental progression or contribution point and forward to the Director of Human Resources and Organisational Development.
