Adding an item to the staff and/or student page
There are three types of information displayed on these pages:
- News or information for staff and/or students
Items will be selected from these for inclusion in ParkAve-News (determined by Marketing and External Relations). All other items will be displayed in the 'Messages to staff or students' area - Event, either internal or external
- Staff forum for sale/wanted, lost and found etc (staff use only)
News
To allow current information to be displayed in the Park Ave-news or staff/student messages sections, we need to know:
- headline of the content
- what you want to say
- any link to webpages for further information (if available)
- where it is to appear (staff page, student page or both)
- whether it should appear now or at a later date
Events
Before planning any on-Campus event, please review the Outlook events calendar carefully to ensure there are no potential schedule clashes. It is vital all events are logged onto the calendar so staff can quickly see what has been planned and which University resources are committed for a specific date. For event guidelines and instructions on viewing the Outlook event calendar visit the events calendar page.
For forthcoming events we need to know:
- event name, date, time and venue
- summary
- additional details
- price
- contact email and telephone number
- address of website with further information (if available)
- host school/department or external host
- Whether it is open to participants outside the University and if so would you like it to appear on the corporate page.
You can forward this information by completing the submit a news item or submit an event form which is linked from the staff homepage. This information will then appear on your requested page(s). If your news is selected to appear in the Park Avenue section of the staff homepage it will be edited by Marketing & External Relations and it will subsequently appear in the next weekly edition of the Park Ave-news email. To guarantee an item appears in the Park Ave-news of your choice you need to have submitted it by Wednesday at 12noon for it to appear in the ParkAve-news the following day. ParkAve-news is sent every Thursday.
Additional information
Information is placed chronologically and the latest items will be displayed on the staff/student homepage, after this they will move to a page linked from the staff/student homepages.
