Annual Volunteers Fair
The University of Northampton's Centre for Community Volunteering holds a Volunteers Fair every year in October, soon after the start of the academic year.
The Volunteers Fair is a chance for charities and community groups to meet University students and staff, promote their work and recruit new volunteers.
This year almost 600 people took the opportunity to register their interest in 50 community organisations.
What is it?
The fairs are attended by local organisations representing a wide range of clients and service user groups. These include organisations working with young people, disabilities, mental health, community arts, social care, conservation, animal welfare and education.
Volunteers from The University of Northampton come with a range of skills including IT, creative technologies, marketing, design, business, social care, sport and languages.
Charities and community groups interested in participating in the 2012 Annual Volunteers Fair can contact the Centre for Community Volunteering on 01604 892280 or email volunteers@northampton.ac.uk.
